This is our first collection, inspired by research on algae/pathogen interactions and developed in collaboration with marine scientist Prof Claire Gachon. We used unseen and breathtaking microscopy images of Claire’s exciting research on the warfare between the brown marine algae Ectocarpus and the beautiful oomycete pathogen Eurychasma.  Her work is shedding some light on how these interactions impact marine ecosystems.

Each scarf is paired with its written ocean literacy story, sharing the science and images that inspired the collection.
