We, the children of primary 7/6 at Taynuilt Primary School in Scotland, wanted to communicate a message.
My design shows a fish stuck in a net and it’s baby surrounded in microplastics and it couldn’t get out. The crab is stuck in the net because the net snapped and all the crabs and fish got stuck and couldn’t get out. I had drawn a fish and then I drew lines over lines to make the net but left where the fish were going to go. I put it in red ink, left it for a minute then it came out like this. I chose red because it is dramatic. - Lewis, P7, Taynuilt Primary.

This design was created during an art and science workshop as part of the ‘Our Plastic Oceans’ project run by Crùbag, in collaboration with Taynuilt Primary School, Renuka Ramanujam, & the Scottish Association of Marine Science (SAMS).
These sustainable, colourful and ocean-inspired notebooks are designed by children because they care and want to do more, they are such an inspiration! Each notebook is a bundle of joy and a conversation starter.
